29: Fulfillment Update (Delays, Ugh)

Howdy folks!
Sorry for the long radio silence. Meatspace has been kicking my ass still and I've had little to no meaningful downtime. But you're not here to read about my hectic life, you wanna know where your pins are!
They're still here! And seeing as how I'm having surgery on Thursday that will have me off work for about 4 weeks, the good news here is that once I'm past the first ~10 days of sleeping 20 hours a day in recovery, I will FINALLY have some free time on my hands to finish packing and sending off these pins!
So with my sincere apologies, the TL;DR version is: whole lotta shit happened, fulfillment pushed back till October due to Life Circumstances.

28: PINS ARE HERE! First Look!

Howdy folks! I'm back with news!
Sorry about the radio silence! I won't bore you with the details but suffice to say it's been a hairy time offline. Now let's forget about all that because THE PINS HAVE ARRIVED!!
Let's take a closer look at some of these...
What comes next
The pins and shipping materials are all here, but I'm still awaiting the remade charms and pin banners. I believe the pin banners are on their way to me now. In the meantime, I need to do the following:
- Sort every last pin into A grade or B grade
- If any design is more than 20% B grades, contact my manufacturer about replacing them
- Order the correct color clutches (my manufacturer was out, so the blue ones will be free extras)
- Affix every last pin to a backer card (pray for my hand ligaments if you're the praying type)
Assuming there are no additional delays (like having to have pins remade), what comes after those tasks and the arrival of the remaining rewards is:
- Pack orders
- Buy postage
- Send them all on their way!

Howdy folks!
Pardon my radio silence for the last few weeks; between work, travel, injury, and now being down sick, I've had a pretty busy time lately. I kept meaning to ask for progress photos from my manufacturer and then forgetting, and then lo and behold, they've been shipped! I don't know how long they'll take to get to me, but sometime in the next few weeks we'll see what they came out looking like!
Assuming I don't have to have anything remade, I will have to get them all onto their backing cards and pack them by hand (while still working full-time), so please maintain patience with me. 🙏 We're nearing the end of the line and I'm excited to share the results with you all!

26: Charging Cards in 2 Days!

Howdy folks! Surveys are now locked, and in
2 DAYS I will begin charging cards. Be prepared!
If your card fails to charge, fret not! Backerkit will email you and try again.
I've placed the order with my new manufacturer and we've been working out all the details of the vectors. Those are just about done and
production will start very soon!I'm also going to place orders for
corrected acrylic charms and pin banners. The first run of charms came in, but everything except the jumping spiders are way too light, so I'm having the rest remade and will sell the too-light ones on Etsy at a discount - same as the initial run of pin banners.
Speaking of Etsy! I recently added two more Crit! d20 pride pins to my shop: a restock on the bi pride pins, and a first-time run of non-binary pride pins! Check 'em out:
Both of these (and everything else in stock) are on sale for 25% this week, too!
Finally, here's this update's pet tax: Brooklyn perched adorably on their food cup. :3

25: LAST CALL: Surveys Lock in 48 Hours!

Ya boi had a weird day yesterday and fully forgot to do the lock-with-notice thing. So! I've just pulled the tigger on that now.
This is not a drill: surveys lock in 48 hours!
Once surveys lock, you will not be able to change your response or submit a new survey (looking at you, one remaining person who hasn't submitted their survey yet). If you do not submit your survey by 2:15 PM Central Sunday, you will forfeit any reward and your pledge will be counted as a donation to the campaign. This 48-hour window is also your last chance to cancel your order and receive a refund.
You will still be able to change your shipping address until I lock addresses during fulfillment.

Monday the 20th was Wikus's 4-year gotcha day! Look how he's grown from then to now:
He's grown so much! He won't get much of any larger than he is now, though. Wikus is a male T+ (tyrosinase-positive) albino Cape house snake (Boaedon capensis): a small, common, harmless snake from South Africa and a few neighboring countries. House snakes have a combination of a very smooth, satiny texture and a gentle temperament that makes them a dream to handle.
Another fun fact: while house snakes are non-venomous and generally very docile, their family (Lamprophiidae) is a close relative of much more dangerous snakes — Elapidae, which includes cobras, mambas, and sea snakes!
